“After my arrest, AAP became more united,” Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to party MLAs said on May 12. “I was worried that medicines should not be stopped from reaching the public. Free electricity and water should not be stopped, but all of you did a very good job and did not let any conspiracy succeed. BJP wanted to break the party and topple the government by arresting me but the opposite happened. After my arrest the party became even stronger,” Kejriwal said in a post on X.

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal asserted that the BJP intended to destabilize the AAP administrations in Punjab and Delhi following his arrest, though these plans did not succeed. “BJP people would say before my arrest that they will break the party and topple the governments in Delhi and Punjab,” Kejriwal remarked while speaking to his party’s MLAs after a meeting.

He further explained, “They had a plan that they will arrest me, break the party, topple the government in Delhi and then in Punjab also. After arrest, their plan failed. You all did not break.”

Kejriwal, who had been detained by the Enforcement Directorate concerning the Delhi excise policy scam case, received interim bail from the Supreme Court on Friday. He noted that the AAP grew stronger and more cohesive “after my arrest.”

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are in progress, and the fourth phase of voting is set to take place tomorrow, May 13, 2024, in 96 constituencies across nine states and a union territory. In significant news, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, previously detained due to the Delhi Excise Policy Case, has been granted interim bail until June 1. This allows him to participate in the ongoing election campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). During his temporary release, the AAP leader has made predictions regarding the election outcome, suggesting that the BJP may secure only 220 seats and indicating that the incumbent government might not retain power.
